Parkside Brings Holiday Cheer with Sold-Out Show, A Season of Lights

HARRISBURG, PA – December 9, 2024

The Rose Lehrman Arts Center was alight with holiday spirit this past Sunday as Parkside Harmony and Parkside Melody took the stage for their highly anticipated holiday show, A Season of Lights. The sold-out event brought together nearly 400 audience members for an unforgettable 75-minute celebration of music, community, and joy.

From the first soaring notes of “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” to the serene harmonies of “Silent Night,” Parkside delivered a performance that captivated hearts and illuminated spirits. With their signature blend of vocal excellence and emotional connection, the singers created an intimate and immersive experience that will be remembered for seasons to come.

“This was the perfect way to kick off the holidays,” said an audience member. “I’ve been a fan of Parkside for years, but tonight felt extra special. The music was stunning, and the interactive elements made us feel like we were part of the show.”

The program featured a mix of classic carols, contemporary favorites, and inspiring new arrangements, brought to life by the combined talent of Parkside Harmony and Parkside Melody. Highlights included the lively, foot-tapping “Go Tell It On the Mountain” and the heartfelt “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” which brought tears to many eyes.

Artistic Director Sean Devine shared his reflections on the evening’s success:

“Our goal with A Season of Lights was to create a space where people could feel the joy and warmth of the holiday season, even in the midst of life’s challenges. The response from the audience has been overwhelming and humbling. We’re so grateful for the opportunity to share this music and to connect with our community.”

Vince Sandroni, Music Director, echoed the sentiment:

“This wasn’t just a performance—it was a celebration of togetherness. Seeing the audience engage with the music, and hearing them sing along, was a reminder of why we do what we do. It’s all about sharing the light and spreading joy.”

The immersive experience also featured interactive elements, such as sing-along portions that had the entire audience joining in on favorites like “Caroling, Caroling.” A standout moment came during “Silent Night,” when soft, twinkling lights filled the theater, creating a serene and magical ambiance.

For members of Parkside Harmony, the night was equally meaningful.

“This is what the holidays are all about—bringing people together through music,” said Parkside singer Anthony Arbaiza. “The energy in the room was incredible, and I’m so proud to be part of this amazing group.”

As the final notes faded and the audience rose to their feet in applause, it was clear that A Season of Lights had delivered on its promise to create musical memories to treasure.
